He threw three consecutive shutouts during Grapevine’s playoff run, setting the tone for the Mustangs’ march to the title.

Offensive Player of the Year: Lucas Nawrocki, Aledo

Aledo designated hitter Lucas Nawrocki delivered a standout junior season, batting .512 and helping lead the Bearcats to the Class 5A Division I state title. He racked up 44 hits, including 11 doubles, three triples and three home runs, while driving in 39 runs. Nawrocki also drew 20 walks, was hit by a pitch 14 times, and posted an impressive .650 on-base percentage, earning him District 5-5A Offensive Player of the Year honors.

A THSCBA Class 5A All-State Third Team selection, Nawrocki shined brightest on the biggest stage—he went a perfect 4-for-4 in the championship game to earn a spot on the 5A All-State Tournament Team and set a new state record for hits in a title game.

Pitcher of the Year: Devin Miller, Aledo

Aledo senior pitcher Devin Miller was a dominant force on the mound throughout the 2025 season, finishing with an 11-1 record and a terrific 0.97 ERA. Over 79 innings, he struck out 79 batters while issuing 21 walks, earning him a spot as the Co-District 5-5A Pitcher of the Year and THSCBA Class 5A First Team All-State honors.

Miller delivered in the big moments, tossing a complete game in the Class 5A state championship, allowing just one run on four hits over seven innings to help secure the title. A 2025 5A All-State Tournament Team selection, Miller is committed to continuing his career at Cal State Fullerton.

Newcomer of the Year: Camden Dean, Southlake Carroll

As a freshman on varsity, Camden Dean made an instant impact for a Southlake Carroll team ranked in the top 10 of Class 6A. He tallied 31 hits, third-most on the roster, and showed impressive plate discipline, striking out less than any other starter. The Dragons finished the season with a strong 30-9-1 record.

A switch-hitter with advanced tools on both sides of the ball, Dean was named District 4-6A Newcomer of the Year. He’s already flashing next-level potential on the mound, with a fastball that tops 90 miles per hour. With continued development and expanded opportunities, Dean is poised to emerge as one of the Fort Worth area’s top players and a nationally ranked prospect in the Class of 2028.

Coach of the Year: Chad Barry, Aledo

Aledo head coach Chad Barry led the Bearcats to a Class 5A Division I state championship, the program’s first since the 2014 season. The team finished with a 34-8 record and captured a District 5-5A title with a perfect 10-0 record.
