Fort Worth Diamond Hill Jarvis tabs Irwin Garcia as next head football coach
Fort Worth Diamond Hill-Jarvis has a new head football coach: Irwin Garcia.
Garcia, previously an associate head coach and defensive coordinator at Fort Worth North Side, his alma mater, has been with the Steers for 14 seasons. Garcia is a former walk-on football player at TCU.
Irwin will take over one of Texas’ most challenging jobs. In 2024, Diamond Hill-Jarvis won zero games and hasn’t won a game since the 2020 season. The Eagles have Texas’ longest losing streak at 46 games.
In addition to having a new football coach, the Eagles also have a new athletic coordinator: Kyle Reopelle.
Reopelle, also head coach of the boys’ soccer program, has led the Eagles to become a Fort Worth-area leader. In 2024, DHJ soccer went on an undefeated run en route to a District 7-4A championship and a 23-3 overall record.
Reopelle led the Eagles to the Class 4A state title game in the 2021 season. Since then, DHJ has been a staple in regional rounds.
