The 2025 TAPPS Track & Field state meet turned into a “Medal Rush” for multiple Fort Worth area teams and athletes at Waco Midway’s Panther Stadium.
Colleyville Covenant Christian captured Team Gold (99 points) in the 4A girls classification while Argyle Liberty Christian claimed Silver in both 6A boys and 6A girls with 104 and 84 points, respectively.
The Pantego Christian boys won 4A Silver (88 points) while its girls team took home Bronze (68 points). Fort Worth Covenant Classical struck 3A Gold in boys (132 points) as well as girls competition (122 points). Fort Worth Christian earned Bronze in boys 5A (81 points).

Fort Worth Nolan Catholic junior Lyrix Sallee earned Gold in the boys 800m Run with a 1:57.50 time.
Sophomore Georgia Giesinger (Nolan Catholic) entered all three distance events. Giesinger won Silver in the 3200m Run and Bronze in the 1600m Run, establishing personal records in each event. She also finished sixth in the 800m.
Argyle Liberty Christian senior Madeleine Holland won both the 3200 and 1600-meter Run events, setting a personal record (5:04.77) in the latter. The girls 4x200 quartet won Gold while the 4x400 team took Silver. The boys 4x100 and 4x400 each garnered Silver. Senior Ewan Curtis established personal records in winning both the boys 110 and 300-meter Hurdles events. Rice football signee CJ Witten had Gold-winning 21.66 time in the 200m Dash.
The Argyle Liberty Christian boys totaled 104 team points to finish second to Houston St. Thomas, which recorded 165. The Liberty Christian girls’ 84 points placed second to Houston St. Agnes which amassed a dominating 176 points in winning its ninth straight TAPPS track & field title.

Fort Worth Southwest Christian senior Jaeden Thomas took home five medals. Thomas won Gold in the 100m Dash (12.14), Silver in the triple jump (37-04.00), Bronze in the 200m Dash (25.17), Bronze in the long jump (16-10.25) and anchored the 4x100 relay team that won Silver (49.11). “I came here with high expectations,” said Thomas. “I did not meet all of them but I can hold my head high, knowing I gave it my all.”
Junior Braxton Smith took Gold in both Hurdles events --- 110 and 300 -- for Fort Worth Southwest Christian with times of 15.38 and 41.02, respectively. The 110m mark was a new personal record. Senior teammate Caleb Buell claimed Silver in the 300m Hurdles (41.26).
Senior Jaylen Thomas of Southwest Christian won the boys 400m Dash (48.26).
Fort Worth Christian’s (81 points) third-place boys finish was just three points behind Midland Christian School and Fort Bend Christian.
Winning Gold in the boys 4x200 Relay, Fort Worth Christian one individual Silver and one Bronze, while adding a team Silver in the 4x400.
Grapevine Faith sophomore Sophia Belcher claimed girls 800m Gold (2:19.36) and captured Silver in the 1600m event (5:14.25).

Junior Sophie Smith claimed girls 3200m Gold (11:56.74) and 1600m Silver (546.14) for Colleyville Covenant Christian. “Excited with how everything turned out,” said Smith. “I just really tried to concentrate and I thought I did a good job of that in the two races.” Senior teammate Brianna Harrison established a personal record (57.31) in winning the 400m Dash, finished second in the 200m Dash, after winning the long jump the previous day.
Senior Matthew Boughton, a Texas A&M baseball signee, led the CCC boys team, winning the high jump and the long jump, setting a new personal record in the latter (24-10.00).
Pantego Christian senior Neriah Williams had a medal haul in the girls classification -- three Golds (100m Dash, 200m dash, triple jump), anchored the Gold-medal winning 4x100 Relay unit, and finished fourth in the long jump.
The Pantego boys were spearheaded by junior Jameson Burns, who set a personal record (4:33.36) in winning the 1600m Run. The 4x100 quartet earned Gold with a 42.96 mark.

Freshman GloryEvelyn Mitchell won the 100m and 200m Dash events, as well as earning Bronze in the long jump, to lead the Team Gold Fort Worth Covenant Classical squad. Junior teammate Gwenyth Elizable set a personal record in winning 300m Hurdles Gold and took Silver in the 100m Hurdles. The boys contingent got Gold results in the 4x100 and 4x200 relay events, with junior Ellis Mitchell (high jump) and freshman Jake Schierloh (pole vault) each garnering Gold.

Fort Worth Bethesda Christian junior Atticus Giere set a personal record in an 800m (2:04.31) Gold medal winning performance.
Crowley Nazarene Christian junior Gaddiel Nakatare won the boys 200m Dash (22.56).

Azle Christian sophomore Grayson Smith won a pair of boys Gold medals -- 100m Dash (11.07) and 200m Dash (22.92). The Azle Christian girls relay team took Gold in the 4x100 and Silver in the 4x200.
