North Crowley offensive coordinator Eli Reinhart was announced as Hutto High School’s next head football coach on Tuesday, February 2.

Reinhart helped power North Crowley to a Class 6A Division I state championship, orchestrating an offense that averaged 54 points per game and 8,528 total yards in an undefeated season. The Panthers ended the historic campaign with a No. 3 Max Preps National Ranking.

Reinhart was named the 2024 Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Offensive Coordinator of the Year and is widely known as one of the brightest offensive minds in Texas high school football. His playbook was as advanced as it was deep and offered a wide range of plays that included short passes, trick plays, a consistently effective run game and more.

“Coach Reinhart is a natural leader who embodies excellence in his preparation and discipline,” Hutto ISD Superintendent Jeni Neatherlin said in a statement. “I am confident Coach Reinhart will continue his history of winning in Hutto by building champions on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. We’re excited to welcome him to Hippo Nation.”

Reinhart helped power wide receiver Quentin Gibson to multiple awards, including the Max Preps National Player of the Year and the Star-Telegram Player of the Year. Under Reinhart, quarterback Chris Jimerson Jr. won the Star-Telegram Player of the Year as a junior and was named a Max Preps Senior All-American as a senior.

In the 2024 state championship, the Panthers scored 50 points vs. Austin Westlake. In a non-district game vs. reigning champion DeSoto, North Crowley scored 57 points.

“I’m so proud of Coach Reinhart,” North Crowley head coach Ray Gates wrote on X. “He was a huge part of our success over the last three years. Hutto, you couldn’t have hired a better coach for the job.”

Reinhart, who spent three years at North Crowley, posted a statement thanking the Panthers and Gates, saying he is “so grateful for my opportunity to be a North Crowley Panther.”

“This is truly a special place with great kids and a great community,” Reinhart wrote. “I am so proud to have represented the 817 and helped bring home a state championship ‘for the city.’”

Reinhart ended his statement with Galatians 6:9, one of the foundations of North Crowley’s program: “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

Reinhart will take over a Hutto Hippo team that went 4-6 in the regular season and 3-5 in District 25-6A. The Hippos narrowly missed the playoffs, finishing fifth in district.

“I am incredibly excited for this opportunity to be the next Head Football Coach and Boys Athletic Coordinator at Hutto High School,” Reinhart said in a statement. “I am excited to hit the ground running, get to know our kids, and get involved with our great community. I’m ready to get invested in Hippo Nation.”
