Regional semifinal high school football games start on Friday, Nov. 29 for Fort Worth-area teams. Several programs are looking to take one step closer to a state championship.

Here are the games to watch.

Class 6A D1: North Crowley, Euless Trinity to face undefeated teams

North Crowley and Euless Trinity are championship contenders, and the road in Texas football’s largest classification is treacherous.

Euless Trinity (11-1) will face Allen (12-0) at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27 at Dragon Stadium. Allen is Texas’ largest school, and the Eagles have had a stellar 2024 season, winning the District 6-6A championship.

The Trojans have had a fantastic season too, losing only to Southlake Carroll, a 6A D2 title contender, in a high-offense thriller.

North Crowley (12-0) will also face an undefeated program: Coppell (12-0).

The Cowboys, the District 5-6A champions, have a knack for winning close games against elite talent. Coppell defeated Waxahachie and Denton Guyer in one-score games.

The Panthers also played Denton Guyer, defeating them 49-28 in non-district play. Coppell will be a test for North Crowley’s defense, though; the Cowboys averaged 45 points per game this season.

The regional semifinals will be North Crowley’s toughest challenge since a week two victory over DeSoto, the reigning Class 6A D2 state champions.

The winners of Trinity vs. Allen and North Crowley vs. Coppell will meet in the Region One final.

Class 6A D2: Crowley, Southlake Carroll look to advance

Crowley (8-4) recently won its first area-round game since 1971, defeating Midland 26-21.

Now, the Eagles are looking to extend their season vs. Denton Guyer (9-3) at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grapevine’s Mustang Panther Stadium. The Wildcats, a team that took down Aledo, is a tough challenge for Crowley.

The winner will face the winner of Southlake Carroll (12-0) and Hebron (8-4), which is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 27 at Ellis Stadium.

The Dragons are coming off a narrow victory in the area round vs. Wolfforth Frenship. The status of Baylor commit Davis Penn is up in the air; the star running back exited in the first quarter of the Frenship game with an injury.

Even with the close call and the potential injury, Southlake Carroll is a heavy favorite against the Hawks. The two programs played in non-district play earlier this season, and Carroll cruised to a massive 59-16 victory.

Class 5A D1: Denton Ryan, Richland rematch, more

District 3-5A D1 is arguably the most competitive in Texas high school football.

Denton Ryan, Richland and Aledo all have the firepower to compete with anyone, yet they’ll have to go through each other to reach the state semifinals.

The Ryan Raiders (10-1) and Richland Royals (10-2) will meet in the regional semifinals. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ford Center in Frisco.

Richland fell to Ryan 44-19 in October. However, both teams have experienced change throughout the season. Richland, a few weeks removed from the Ryan game, gave Aledo its toughest game of the regular season, taking the Bearcats to overtime.

The winner of Ryan and Richland will face either Aledo (11-1) or Tascosa (7-5). The Bearcats, as heavy favorites, will face the Rebels at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29 at Grant Teaff Stadium in Snyder.
