Aledo running back decommits from Texas, more Fort Worth-area recruiting updates
Aledo running back Raycine Guillory decommitted from the Texas Longhorns on Thursday, On3’s Hayes Fawcett announced on X.
Guillory confirmed the report, saying it was “God’s plan.” The Class of 2026 Bearcat superstar is one of the most sought-after talents in Texas with offers from Baylor, Georgia, North Texas, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, SMU, TCU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and more.
Guillory, ranked by 247Sports as the No. 16 running back and No. 189 player in the entire class of 2026, committed to the Longhorns on Jan 10, 2024. He helped power the Aledo Bearcats to a Class 5A D1 state championship but did not play in the title game due to an injury.
Guillory is 5-foot-10 with a 180-pound frame. In his sophomore season, he was selected to the Fort Worth All Area first team.
Southlake Carroll running back commits to Baylor
Southlake Carroll running back Davis Penn announced his commitment to Baylor on X.
Penn, the 2023 Fort Worth All Area Newcomer of the Year, led the Carroll Dragons to the Class 6A D1 State Semifinal as a sophomore. He has a 5-foot-10, 185 pound frame and had offers from Wisconsin, Arizona State, Texas State and more.
Penn, a four star recruit, shares carries with class of 2025 running back Riley Wormley, a USC commit, in a duo that Carroll head coach Riley Dodge referred to as a “two headed monster.”
Cooper Witten receives offer from TCU
Cooper Witten, the son of Cowboys legend and Argyle Liberty Christian head coach Jason Witten, received an offer from TCU football.
Cooper Witten, a class of 2027 athlete, has a 6-foot-1, 205 pound frame. His brother, class of 2025 linebacker CJ Witten, was selected to the Fort Worth All Area team. The duo helped power the Liberty Christian Warriors to a TAPPS Division II state championship and an undefeated season.
