Southlake Carroll’s elite junior tight end announces commitment to Tennessee football
One of the best prospects in Fort Worth-area high school football announced where he’ll be playing at the collegiate level.
Southlake Carroll tight end Jack VanDorselaer, a junior, announced his commitment to Tennessee on X Sunday morning. VanDorselaer, a 247Sports four star prospect, had a top nine of Texas, Oregon, Alabama, USC, TCU, Michigan, Miami, Baylor and Tennessee.
VanDorselaer started his high school athletic career as a swimmer and made the transition to the football field, where he excelled for head coach Riley Dodge and the Dragons. He thrived in any blocking situation, helping pave the way for a Southlake Carroll run game that averaged 256 rushing yards per game.
He was a force in the passing game as one of Georgia Tech commit Graham Knowles’ primary targets, especially during the Dragons run to the Class 6A D2 State Semifinal. VanDorselaer, with a 6-foot-4, 225 pound frame, used freakish speed and athleticism along with the size the make.
Entering the 2023 season, VanDorselaer was named the No. 7 player to watch in the Fort Worth-area. He backed up the preseason honor, being unanimously voted to District 4-6A’s first team.
In a regular season matchup against Keller, VanDorselaer flashed his speed and recorded a 91 yard touchdown reception on a wheel route. He’s fifth player to commit to the Tennessee Volunteers’s 2025 class.
Van Dorselaer is ranked as 247Sports’ No. 11 junior tight end in the nation.
