Keller Central head football coach Mike Sports resigned from his position as head coach on Tuesday.

Sports served as Keller Central’s defensive coordinator from 2010 until his promotion in 2020. In his final year as head coach of the team, the Chargers suffered blowout losses by 20 or more in six of their seven District 4-6A games.

The Southlake Carroll Dragons bested them 70-7 on Oct. 13, 2023. The closest the Chargers came to winning a game was a 33-22 loss to Haltom on Sept. 14, 2023.

The news was first reported by Matt Stepp of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football. Keller ISD Athletics confirmed Sports’ resignation to the Star-Telegram.
