Justin Northwest 40, Midlothian 37
In one of the more hotly contested games of the area, Northwest was able to avenge last year’s Bi-District loss to Midlothian with a 40-37 win on the road.
The teams battled through eight lead changes throughout the game, including a pick-six by Midlothian’s Bryant Wesco to turn a 31-31 game in the fourth into a 37-31 lead. However, the point-after try was blocked and returned for two points by Chad Phillips to make the score 37-33 in favor of Midlothian with 8:53 left in the fourth.
The teams exchanged punts but Midlothian’s only got out to its own 22, where Northwest took over with 2:17 to play. Five players later and on fourth down, Thompson completed a seven yard pass to McComas to give Northwest the 40-37 lead.
The Northwest defense stood tall on the final drive, forcing a turnover on downs and sealing the win for the Texans.

Red Oak 35, Burleson Centennial 32
In another back-and-forth game, Burleson Centennial saw its season come to a close as Red Oak escaped with a 35-32 win, leaning on its backup quarterback.
Red Oak started with an 8-0 lead after a safety followed by a touchdown. Centennial responded with a score of its own via a 39-yard touchdown run by Keilan Gregory and missed the 2-point conversion to still trail 8-6.
