A Mansfield Legacy (2-3, 1-1) loss is turning into a win.

Dallas Skyline (1-4, 0-2) recently forfeited its Sept. 22, 35-16 victory over Mansfield Legacy. Head football coach and Athletic Director Jacody Coleman self reported that linebacker Elijah Barnes was ineligible to play in the first half after being ejected in a Sept. 15 loss to DeSoto.

Matt Stepp of Dave Campbells Texas Football was the first to report the news. Mansfield Legacy head coach Jeff Hulme confirmed the reversal of the loss on Thursday to the Star-Telegram. The Bronco win will go down as a 1-0 victory.

Barnes is rated as the No. 14 class of 2025 linebacker in the nation and the No. 10 class of 2025 player in Texas by 247Sports. The 6-foot-3, 225 pound line Raider has from Alabama, Baylor, Colorado, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, USC and more.

With the forfeit win, the Broncos have won their first in District 11-6A. Skyline, on the other hand, is now winless in district play.

Dallas Skyline will face winless Mansfield Lake Ridge 7 p.m. CT Thursday at Newsom Stadium. Mansfield Legacy has a tougher challenge; the Broncos will face the undefeated DeSoto Eagles 7 p.m. CT Friday at Newsom Stadium.
