The Star-Telegram presents its annual girls basketball honorees, including its player of the year, offensive and defensive players of the year, coach of the year and our first-and second-team all-area selections.
Player of the Year
Kylie Marshall, Sr., G, Mansfield Lake Ridge
- Averaged 17 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.8 steals per game
- Shot 44.8 % on FGs, 25.4% on 3’s and 79.7% on FT
- District 11-6A MVP
- No. 1 recruit in the state
- 4-star player heading to Texas A&M
- TABC all-state
- Lake Ridge reached the regional quarterfinals
- All-time leading scorer in Lake Ridge history with 2,017 career points
Offensive Player of the Year
Camryn Tade, Sr., G, Southlake Carroll

Kamryn Wilson, Jr., G, Mansfield Timberview
- Averaged 10.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.3 steals per game
- Took 14 charges
- District 8-5A Defensive Player of the Year
- Timberview held teams to 36.7 points per game
- Timberview held district opponents to 27 points per game
- Timberview went 35-4 overall and 16-0 in District 8-5A
- Timberview reached the regional semifinals
Newcomer of the Year
Evan O’Steen, Fr., G, Grapevine Faith Christian
- Averaged 17.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 5.6 steals per game
- Faith Christian went 35-3
- The Lions reached the TAPPS Class 5A state semifinals
Coach of the Year
Ramsey Ghazal, Glen Rose
- Ghazal and the Tigers finished with a 39-2 record
- Glen Rose made its first trip to the UIL state tournament since 1971.
- Glen Rose fell short in the state semifinals, 50-48, against state champion Waco La Vega.
- The Tigers outscored opponents by nearly 1,500 points and averaged 64 points per game.
- Glen Rose clamped down on the defensive side, allowing teams to under 30 points per game.
- Glen Rose was ranked as the No. 1 team in Class 4A for most of the season.

Kendal Robinson, Jr., G, North Crowley
- District 3-6A Offensive Player of the Year
- Averaged 17 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assist, and 1 block per game
- Team captain led North Crowley in scoring
- Playoff averages were 21 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals
- Second player in school history to reach 1,000 points
- North Crowley was 24-9 overall and 12-1 district champions
- Lost by 4 points to Southlake Carroll in the regional quarterfinals

- District 8-6A Co-Offensive Player of the Year
- Bowie finished 22-10 and 10-2 to finish 2nd in 8-6A
Ananda Jenerson, So., G, FW Southwest Christian
- Averaged 25.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.1 steals and 2.4 assists per game
- TAPPS Class 5A all-state
- Scored 52 of the Eagles’ 60 points against Burleson

Jordan McIntosh, Jr., G, Fort Worth Dunbar
- Averaged 12 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.7 steals and 2.6 assists per game

- Dunbar was 12-0 in district
- The Wildcats lost in the area round of the playoffs
Chelsea Lott, Sr., G/F, Lipan
- Averaged 9.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 3.1 steals per game
- 11-2A Co-Most Valuable Player
- Class 2A state title game MVP had 16 points and 3 steals in 53-48 win over Gruver
- 2A state all-tournament team
- Lipan was 35-3 overall
- Signed with Hardin-Simmons University
