Crowley head football coach JJ Resendez has been reassigned, Matt Stepp of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football first reported on Tuesday.

Resendez spent five seasons at Crowley after being hired in April of 2018.

An email was sent to Crowley ISD on Tuesday night and the district did not reply to any messages from the Star-Telegram. Resendez replied to a text message on Wednesday, only stating “I don’t have any comments.”

During Resendez’s tenure, the Eagles posted a 25-28 overall record. Crowley went to the playoffs three times, 2018, 2019 and 2022. The Eagles went 4-7 this season and ended their year with a 52-13 loss against Southlake Carroll in the Class 6A Division 2 bi-district round.

Crowley finished third in the District 3-6A standings. The Eagles were picked to finish sixth by Dave Campbell’s and fifth by the Star-Telegram.

Crowley went 4-3 in district play, picking up one of the best wins all season, a 26-24 victory over Euless Trinity on Oct. 21. Angel Loera hit the game-wining field goal as time expired.

The Eagles had a 22-15 district record in five seasons with Resendez.

Resendez previously coached at Fort Worth South Hills.

Resendez went 54-30 in eight seasons with the Scorpions, including a 42-12 record during his last four years. The Scorpions were a playoff team each of his last four seasons.

The Scorpions posted 10-0 regular seasons his last two years, the first time a Fort Worth ISD school won 10 games in back-to-back seasons since the 1970s.
