Week 10

Eaton 42, Haltom 7

Eaton’s playoff hopes continues after a 42-7 blowout home win over Haltom on Thursday night at Northwest ISD Stadium.

Noah Lugo had 201 total yards and five total touchdowns to lead the Eaton (4-5, 3-3 in 4-6A), scoring two of his touchdowns in the first half.

Haltom (0-9, 0-6) led 7-0 midway through the first quarter before the Eagles rattled off 21 straight points to close the half.

While Haltom only netted 198 yards of offense, Jaylon Mason was a key contributor for the Buffalos with four catches for 75 yards and the lone score.

Trinity 52, Weatherford 20

Over in 3-6A, Trinity scored the game’s first 35 points on the way to a much-needed, 52-20 win over Weatherford.

Gary Maddox had 162 yards on 16 carries to lead the Trojans (3-6, 3-3 in 3-6A) over Weatherford, forcing a three-way tie for fourth in the district standings.

Josh Ball got the game started off quickly for Trinity, returning the opening kickoff 80 yards to make the score 7-0. Trinity then scored on its next four offensive possessions and kicked a field goal on its fifth to lead 38-7 at the half.

The win sets up a win-and-in scenario for the Trojans next week against Bell, one of the teams Trinity is tied with for fourth.

Martin 35, Arlington 14

Martin used a 21-point third quarter to wipe away a halftime deficit and turn it into a 35-14 win on Friday night.

The Warriors (8-1, 5-0 in 8-6A) were stifled in the first half, forced to punt on four of its first half possessions and even the first possession of the second half.

Martin didn’t get on the board until a blocked punt was returned for a score with 7:35 in the third quarter. From there, Sergio Snider and Zaire Barrow found their footing in the second half to outscore the Colts (5-4, 3-2) 35-7, racking up three touchdowns and 199 yards on the ground on 15 carries.

The win locks up the district title for Martin since it owns the head-to-head tiebreaker over South Grand Prairie.

Boswell 38, Crowley 7

Boswell moved into second place in the 3-6A standings with a 38-7 win over Crowley on Friday night. The Pioneers (7-2, 4-2) turned a close game into a blowout in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Eagles 21-0.

Boswell now owns the tiebreaker over Crowley for second place should the two finish with the same district record.

Timberview 59, Richland 24

A 42-0 run in the second and third quarters erased an 11-point deficit and turn the game into a blowout for Timberview in a 59-24 win over Richland.

Cameron Bates and Jarvis Reed each had three rushing touchdowns for the Wolves (9-0, 7-0 in 5-5A Division 1), who claimed the district title with the win.

After an early 3-0 lead, Richland (7-2, 5-2) responded with two touchdowns to go up 14-3 midway through the second quarter.

From there, it was Timberview, as the Wolves scored three times to close out the half to lead 23-14 and then added 22 more points in the third to go up 45-17. Bates and Reed combined 205 yards on the ground on 25 carries and Javeon Madison added another 66 on 11 carries.

Richland falls into a tie for third with Dallas White but own the tiebreaker due to win over the Longhorns on Sept. 30. A win in the season finale or a loss by White will secure that third seed out of 5-5A D1.
