Fort Worth North Side takes down Trimble Tech on homecoming night
Fort Worth North Side commanded the game as the Steers defeated Fort Worth Trimble Tech on homecoming 44-7 Friday night at Clark Stadium.
The Steers (5-2 overall, 2-2 District 4-5A D2) took the lead within the first 15 seconds of the game as Marcus Miles ran for a 70-yard touchdown putting the team up 7-0.
The second touchdown of the first quarter was made by North Side’s Roman Chapa who ran the ball into the end zone, making the score 13-0.
But that wasn’t enough for the Steers. With 1:24 left in the first quarter, Riko Ramos came in with his own rushing touchdown and after the two-point conversion, North Side led 21-0.
With about three minutes left in the second quarter, the Steers added two more points on the board with a safety which brought the score to 23–0.
The first half ended with Brandon Forrest scoring a touchdown for the Steers with only 13 seconds left on the clock. Going into intermission, North Side was up 30-0.
Eddie Rodriguez would make the first touchdown for the Trimble Tech (2-5, 0-4) with 10:48 left in the third quarter.
Forrest took the score to 37-7 with his second touchdown of the night for the Steers with 8:09 left in the third quarter. Chapa made his second touchdown for North Side with 4:53 left in the third quarter. This was the last score of the game, finalizing the win for the Steers 44-7.
