The Fort Worth Arlington Heights Yellowjackets remain undefeated after their resounding 54-7 win over the Fort Worth Trimble Tech Bulldogs on Thursday night at Farrington Field.

This is the best start of the season for Arlington Heights since 2014.

“It feels great,” Arlington Heights head coach Phil Young said. “These coaches and these players have worked so hard for this.”

The Yellowjackets (6-0 overall, 3-0 district) road to victory started when wide receiver Anthony Lara scored the first touchdown of the evening at the 7:27 mark of the first quarter. Kicker Alberto Chavolla scored the extra point bringing the score to 7-0.

During the first quarter another touchdown was scored by Arlington Heights with 4:47 left by running back Brian Furch. Kicker Rudy Reteguin scored the extra point which put the Yellowjackets up 14-0. The touchdowns kept rolling in when Eric Orozco scored with 2:12 left to up the lead to 20-0.

Furch scored another touchdown midway through the second quarter and after the extra point by Reteguin, the Yellowjackets were up 27-0. Keith Guidry added a touchdown late in the half and Yellowjackets led 33-0 at intermission.

Halfway to the finish line, Arlington Heights linebacker Gabriel Windom recovered a fumble at the beginning of the third quarter and Furch had a 45-yard run for a touchdown. With 7:52 left in the third, Furch ran 32 yards for another touchdown, his fourth touchdown of the night and Heights led 47-0.

“It feels good,” Furch said. “We came together as a team and made it happen.”

Both sides of the ball had a good night for Arlington Heights as defensive back Lamont Mantilla intercepted a pass from Trimble Tech (2-4, 0-3).

The final touchdown of the night for the Yellowjackets was made by quarterback Robert Doyle with 4:24 left in the fourth quarter. Reteguin’s extra point was good and it brought the score to 54-0.

The Bulldogs were determined to put points on the board after they were unable to score during their last two district games. With 1:37 left in the game, Trimble Tech wide receiver Alfreed Homer scored a touchdown and kicker Saul Barboza made the extra point.
