Southlake Carroll soccer star Kennedy Fuller commits to North Carolina, will graduate early

Southlake Carroll soccer star Kennedy Fuller announced her commitment to the University of North Carolina on Twitter Wednesday. She also announced her reclassification to graduate in 2024, moving her graduation up a year.

“After reclassifying to graduate with the class of 2024, I’m excited and honored to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of North Carolina. I thank God for blessing me with the best parents, family, teammates, coaches and friends,” Fuller said in a tweet.

Fuller had one of the best freshman seasons of all-time in the spring for the Dragons, which included a Class 6A state championship, a 4-0 win over Rockwall in April.

Fuller scored three goals in the title game and was voted state championship MVP.

The accolades continued when Fuller was named Fort Worth Star-Telegram all-area player of the year.

Carroll went 22-1-4 and Fuller registered 26 goals and 15 assists.

Then in June, Fuller was named Gatorade Texas high school girls soccer player of the year, becoming the second player from Carroll to win the award (Kirsten Moran, 2004-05).

Other awards Fuller received last season included DFWVarsity high school soccer player of the week, 6A state all-tournament team, District 4-6A MVP, first-team all-state, TGCA player of the year, TASCO player of the year, Dallas Morning News all-area player of the year and Prep Soccer player of the week.

In club, Fuller plays for Solar ECNL and is an All-American.

Last year she was ranked as the No. 1 player in Texas and No. 3 in the nation among the Class of 2025. She was 2022 conference player of the year and has led her team in scoring since 2018.

Fuller also played for the U.S. Youth National Team and was named the best player after helping win the 2022 Concacaf Championship in August. A captain for the team, Fuller finished with nine goals and three assists. During the summer season, Fuller scored in all seven international games while finishing with 12 goals overall.
