Introducing the 2022 Fort Worth Star-Telegram high school baseball all-area team

Southlake Carroll capped off the 2022 high school baseball season with the Class 6A state championship in June.

After another exciting year, the Star-Telegram all-area team features 60 of the best baseball players from the around the Fort Worth-area.

The Carroll Dragons highlight this year’s team with five players and head coach Larry Vucan while Mansfield Legacy, Brock, Argyle and Keller feature multiple selections.

Player of the Year

Griffin Herring, Senior, Southlake Carroll

  • 13-1 record, 0.24 ERA, 3 earned runs allowed all season
  • 145 strikeouts in 87 innings, 0.108 batting average against
  • 6-0 in the playoffs with 71 strikeouts
  • 7 innings, 1 run, 13 strikeouts in state semifinals
  • Didn’t allow a run for 47 1/3 consecutive innings
