After getting blanked in Game 2 that evened the series, the Falcons exploded for 12 runs on 13 hits in Game 3 to beat Frenship and clinch the 6A Region 1 quarterfinal on Saturday at Midwestern State.
Timber Creek advances to the regional semifinals for the second time in program history, first since reaching the regional final in 2016.
It was an offensive shootout in the first two innings with both teams scoring a pair of runs in the first. Isabella Bojkovic, who homered in Game 1, hit a two-out two-run home run for the Falcons.
Kyndel McDaniel hit a sac fly to give Timber Creek a 3-2 lead in the second before Frenship went ahead 4-3.
The Falcons scored four in the fourth by starting the frame with three straight walks. Saniya Hill hit an RBI single to left and Bojkovic walked in a run to make it 6-5 Frenship. Keagyn Ure gave the Falcons a 7-6 lead with her two-run single to center.
Maddisan Noriega’s sac fly scored Cameron Stuhr and Megan Allen added an RBI double to push the lead to 9-6. McDaniel hit a solo homer in the seventh and Hill and Bojkovic added an RBI double and RBI single.
Marcus 13, Hebron 6
The Marauders scored seven runs in the top of the fifth and Marcus beat the Hawks in Game 3 to win the 6A Region 1 quarterfinal series.
Marcus will play in the regional semis for the first time since 2013. The Marauders will play South Grand Prairie.
Tori Edwards and Makayla Dudley hit homers and Marcus led Hebron 4-2 in the fourth. Alexa Hanish hit an RBI single and was followed with a two-run double by Alea Deserrano to make it 8-2.
Haidyn Sokoloski capped the inning by driving in two more.
Grandview 10, Whitesboro 1
Caydin Blackmon allowed one run on five hits and the Zebras routed Whitesboro in Game 2 to clinch the 3A Region 2 quarterfinal series.
Grandview, which only scored two runs in Game 1, erupted for four runs in the first and three in the second.
Laney Bell and Bella Jeter sparked the offense in the early innings. Bell finished with two hits, an RBI and two runs. Jeter drove in three runs and Olivia Bauerschlag went 4 for 4 with three RBI.
Faith Goodgion added three hits, one RBI and four runs.
