Keller senior takes home bronze, Mansfield fourth at UIL boys golf state tournament

Keller senior Kaelen Dulany posted the third lowest score on Day 2 to finish with the bronze medal during the UIL Class 6A boys golf state tournament on Tuesday at Legacy Hills Golf Club in Georgetown.

Dulany, who won the 6A championship last season, was tied for seventh place with a 71 on Day 1 Monday and shaved off four strokes on Day 2 to finish with a 67.

He ended the tournament with a 138 and was tied for third place with San Antonio Clark’s Garrett Endicott.

Plano West’s Matt Comegys won first place with a 136. Preston Stout from Richardson Pearce came in second (137). Fellow Keller golfer Daniel Choi finished with a 141 and came in a tie for eighth. Choi was second after Day 1 with a 69.

Mansfield’s team of Mason Krismer, Landon Farrar, Patrick Babb, Tate Littman and Cameron Beck finished in fourth place with a 601. The Tigers were tied for third after Day 1 with a 303.

Beck was the team leader with a 148 followed by Babb’s 149.

Aledo was the only team from the Fort Worth-area that competed at the Class 5A tournament at White Wing Golf Club in Georgetown. The Bearcats consisted of Logan Ban, Dylan Kiser, Braylon Mahanay, Jake Phillips and Jett Moore.

They finished with a 655.

Granbury’s Tanner Larsen (162) and Grapevine’s Michael Chevalier (170) also competed at state.
