Player of the year
Max Belyeu, Sr., Aledo
The Texas signee helped the Bearcats to the Class 5A Region 1 final last season. He was named to the all-area baseball team after producing 47 hits with 21 going for extra bases.
Belyeu hit nine doubles, seven triples and five home runs. He drove in 33 runs and scored 44 times.
Belyeu was named to the all-state team as well.
Offensive Player of the year
Kayden Voelkel, Sr., Mansfield Legacy
The reigning District 8-5A MVP is among the leading pitchers and hitters in the area, posting an 8-1 record last season and 1.72 ERA. At the plate, Voelkel batted 0.435 and drove in 39 runs for the Broncos.
Defensive Player of the year
Will Bush, Sr., Birdville
Bush was voted District 6-5A MVP after helping the Hawks to 25 wins and the program’s first regional semifinal round since the 2008 season.
Pitcher of the year
Griffin Herring, Sr., Southlake Carroll
The LSU signee was awarded District 4-6A Pitcher of the Year after Carroll reached the Class 6A Region 1 final. Carroll enters as the top-ranked team in the preseason area 6A rankings.
Herring went 11-3 with a 1.43 ERA and 117 strikeouts in 83 innings.
Utility Player of the year
Dee Kennedy, Jr., Benbrook
Kennedy is as versatile as they come, who can play anything from pitcher, catcher, middle infielder and outfield. He was voted district offensive MVP last season for the Bobcats.
Batted 0.467 and produced 49 hits, eight homers, 13 doubles and seven triples.
Drove in 46 runs, scored 55 times and swiped 50 bases.
