Richland pulls out win with last second bucket and more from the Fort Worth area

Boys

Richland 58, Colleyville Heritage 57

Mark Rucha’s step-back jumper with five seconds left pushed the Royals past the Panthers in a District 6-5A showdown on Tuesday.

The win pushed Richland’s record to 12-2.

Richland, No. 15 in the Class 5A state rankings, was led by Rucha’s 15 points. Jalen Nettles chipped in 14. Jourdyn Grandberry added 12 and CJ Nelson finished with nine.

Colleyville Heritage took a 32-29 lead at halftime and extended the lead to 47-42 entering the fourth quarter.

The Panthers were led by Sammon Johnson’s 23 points. Tristan Strength added 12.

Mansfield Timberview 68, Mansfield Legacy 56 OT

Four Wolves scored in double figures and Timberview pulled away with 18 points during the extra period in a District 8-5A contest on Tuesday night.

Jared Washington led all scorers with 17 points for the Wolves. Chendall Weaver added 16. Donovan O’Day (13) and Tyler Turner (10) also scored in double digits for Timberview.

The Wolves and Broncos were tied 11-11 after the first quarter and 27-27 at halftime.

Legacy led 41-38 after three before it was 50-50 at the end of regulation.

Amir McMillan and Isaiah Manning led Legacy with 16 points apiece.

Keller Central 73, Southlake Carroll 52

Mason Jones and Nehemiah Weber both dropped 19 points for the Chargers in their District 4-6A win over the Dragons on Tuesday night.

The win gave Central head coach Gerald Sledge his 100th career victory with the Chargers.

Byron Nelson 61, Keller Timber Creek 49

Finley Bizjack scored a game-high 30 points to lead the Bobcats past the Falcons in District 4-6A action on Tuesday night.

After struggling in the first quarter with just five points, the Bobcats outscored the Falcons by 20 points during the next two quarters to pull away.

Byron Nelson scored 27 points in the third.

Kameran Vicente led Timber Creek with 12 points.

Girls

Keller Timber Creek 57, Byron Nelson 30

Deja Lumsden scored a career-high 25 points as the Falcons took care of the Bobcats in a District 4-6A game on Tuesday night.

FW Dunbar 69, FW Eastern Hills 26

Tomi Graves scored 19 points as the Wildcats beat the Highlands in a District 8-4A game on Tuesday night. Dunbar held Eastern Hills to two points in the first quarter and led 29-9 at intermission.

Grapevine 51, Birdville 20

Olivia Hays scored 21 points to lead the Mustangs past the Hawks in a District 6-5A game on Tuesday night. Carly Sneed added 12 and Emery Kirkpatrick chipped in nine.

The Mustangs held the Hawks scoreless in the first quarter and led 23-0.

Quinn Riddle led Birdville with 13 points.

Kennedale 63, Oak Cliff Faith Family 56

The Ladykats remained undefeated in district play with a victory over Faith Family on Tuesday night.

Reagan Jackson scored a game-high 28 points and Jayla Jackson-Allen added 25 for Kennedale, which improved to 20-5 overall and 3-0 in District 10-4A.
