Burleson Centennial wins to clinch berth and more from Fort Worth-area in Week 11

Burleson Centennial 49, Red Oak 14
In a battle for the final playoff spot out of 4-5A Division 1, Burleson Centennial pulled away in the second quarter and extended that lead in the third for a 49-14 win over Red Oak Friday night.
Centennial clinches the fourth seed in district and will play at Justin Northwest in next week’s playoff opener.
After tying the score at 7, Red Oak (2-8, 2-5) struggled to get going offensively, punting on its next two possessions and then fumbling on two drives while Centennial (4-6, 3-4) scored 21 unanswered in the second quarter to lead 28-7.
The Spartans used a running-backs-by-committee approach that helped them rack up 365 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Jaheim Ababio was the high man for Centennial with 100 yards on seven carries. David Clerk had 92 on 13 carries.
On defense, the Spartans held Red Oak to 232 yards of total offense and forced four turnovers – two fumbles and two interceptions.
Kendall Brown led Red Oak with 157 yards and two scores on 12-of-16 passing.
Mansfield Timberview 42, Burleson 14
Mansfield Timberview went on a 27-0 run in the second quarter to turn a close game in the first half into a blowout by halftime en route to a 42-14 win Friday night.
Jarvis Reed rushed for 196 yards on 22 carries and three touchdowns to lead the Wolves (6-4 overall, 5-2 in District 5-5A Division 2). Reed had two of his rushing scores during that run that propelled Timberview to a 35-14 halftime lead.
The Wolves held Burleson (7-3, 5-2) to less than 300 yards of offense and forced four takeaways on the night, including two fumble recoveries in the first half.
Demarquis Jones led the Elks with 100 yards rushing on 14 carries.
Grapevine 86, Fort Worth Wyatt 6
Grapevine racked up more than 500 yards and scored on eight of its 10 first-half possessions en route to an 80-point win over O.D. Wyatt to finish undefeated in district play for the district championship.
Colt Mercer was 11 of 14 for 271 yards in just one half of play to lead the Mustangs (8-2, 7-0 in District 4-5A Division 2). Caleb Texada also rushed for four touchdowns for Grapevine.
Big plays on offense and a stingy defense that only gave up 100 yards, allowed the Mustangs to score 58 points in the first half and pull its starters from the game.
Kaid Barrett led the Chaparrals (7-3, 6-1) with 83 passing yards and a touchdown. The Chaparrals were playing for their first district championship since 1998.
Haslet Eaton 51, Keller Timber Creek 28
A 28-point first-half surge propelled Eaton to a 51-28 win over Keller Timber Creek on Friday night. Tyler Fussell accounted for 341 yards on 19-of-28 passing and four touchdown throws – two going to Charles Whitebear.
JB Brown also added three touchdowns and 165 yards rushing to help the Eagles (8-2, 5-1 in District 4-6A).
Eaton scored the game’s first 28 points before the Falcons (3-7, 2-4) closed the half with 14 points. Thanks to a touchdown and an onside kick recovery that led to another Falcon score.
Eaton out-gained Timber Creek 537 to 311, holding the Falcons to just 53 yards rushing on the night. Timber Creek was eliminated from the playoffs with idle Keller getting the fourth spot in district.
North Crowley 42, Haltom 39
Quinton Jackson accounted for 326 total yards and five touchdowns to lead North Crowley to a close 42-39 win over Haltom on Friday night.
The Panther (7-3, 5-2 in District 3-6A) fell behind 18-7 after the first quarter, but were able to end the half only down 25-21 after Jackson threw and ran for a touchdown in the second quarter.
North Crowley got the lead it needed in the third quarter with a 33-yard touchdown run from Jackson to go up 28-25. A 43-yard touchdown throw from Jackson to Joshua Nealey boosted the Panthers’ lead over Haltom (3-7, 3-4) to 35-25 as the lead would go back and forth between three and 10 points the rest of the way.
Haltom is knocked out of the playoffs with Boswell’s win over LD Bell.
Boswell 42, LD Bell 13
Sawyer Farr accounted for four total touchdowns and threw for 209 yards to lead Boswell to a 42-13 win over LD Bell on Friday night.
The Pioneers (5-4, 4-3 in District 3-6A) jumped out to an early 14-0 lead on Bell (2-5, 2-8) thanks to two touchdown runs by Ezra Carter from 31 yards and 1 yard out, respectively. Carter finished 134 yards on the ground on 19 carries.
Boswell’s win helped clinched a playoff berth for the Pioneers.
The lead stretched to 28-0 after Farr’s first two touchdowns of the night. The Blue Raiders did not get on the board until 2:48 left in the first half. Boswell responded with another Farr touchdown to put the game out of reach.
Bowell held Bell to just 194 yards of offense and just nine first downs on the night.
