Arlington knocks off Lamar in overtime and more from Fort Worth area in Week 10

Arlington 45, Lamar 38

Arlington overcame a 17-point deficit to beat the Vikings 45-38 in overtime Friday night. Rodney Talton tallied 308 total yards and five touchdowns to lead the Colts (3-6 overall, 2-3 District 8-6A) in the comeback win, including the game-winning rushing touchdown in the extra frame.

After having thrown an interception, the Vikings trailed 38-30 with less than a minute left in the game.

They forced the Colts to punt, which was blocked by De’Sean Wells and set Lamar up on the Arlington 13-yard line. Lamar capitalized two plays later as Jaden Morris connected with Sione Teuhema for the score, and Morris converted the two-point conversion to tie the game 38-38.

Javion Green led Lamar with 133 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and Laron Hulet added 109 yards and a touchdown.

Fossil Ridge 31, Keller Central 12

Landen Chambers rushed for four touchdowns and 198 yards to lead Keller Fossil Ridge (4-5, 2-3 District 4-6A) over Keller Central (2-7, 0-5) for a 31-12 win Friday night.

The Panthers took control of the game by halftime, jumping out to a 24-0 lead. From the game’s first drive, it was Chambers all night as he opened the Fossil Ridge scoring with a 7-yard touchdown run. He added a 5-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter.

Midway through the second quarter, the Panthers added a safety that pushed the lead to 16-0. The Panthers’ defense held the Chargers to one first down and six yards total offense in the first half.

Kelden Ryan put Keller Central on the board with a 4-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter. He added a 27-yard touchdown pass to Cornelius Wilson with 1:14 left in the game.

Southlake Carroll 42, Timber Creek 7

After only scoring two field goals in the first half, Southlake Carroll erupted for 29 points in the third quarter to cruise to an easy 42-7 win over Timber Creek on Friday night.

Owen Allen rushed for 247 yards and three scores to lead the Dragons (9-0, 5-0 in District 4-6A), which included a 52-yard, fourth down run that ignited the 29-point outburst.

Kaden Anderson threw for 163 yards for Carroll while Timber Creek quarterback Jacob Porter threw for 181 yards for the Falcons (3-6, 2-3) in the loss.

With the victory, Carroll secured at least a share of the district title. Timber Creek must defeat Haslet Eaton next week to keep its playoff hopes alive.

Duncanville 63, Mansfield 17

Duncanville scored 28 first quarter points and another 21 in the second to cruise to a 63- 17 win over Mansfield on Friday night during a District 11-6A game.

Solomon James finished the night 12 of 16 passing for 196 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Panthers (7-1, 6-0) to the win. The Duncanville offense racked up 605 yards on the night, including 409 on the ground led by Jameir Wells’ 108 yards on just four carries.

Mansfield’s Sergio Kennedy was the high man for the Tigers with 243 total yards and a passing touchdown.

Colleyville Heritage 37, Burleson Centennial 27

Colleyville Heritage overcame an 11-point deficit in the third quarter to take down Burleson Centennial 37-27 on Friday night. Luke Ullrich had three total touchdowns – one pass and two rushing – to lead the Panthers (8-1, 6-0 in District 4-5A Division 1) in the comeback win.

Ullrich began the comeback with a 4-yard touchdown run as Heritage put the clamps down defensively and outscored Centennial (3-6, 2-4) 27-6 from the 8:04 mark of the third quarter.

Ullrich capped the run off with a 9-yard touchdown run to seal the win for Heritage.

Mansfield Timberview 54, Cleburne 15

Jarvis Reed ran for 137 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Wolves to a 54-15 dominant win over Cleburne on Friday night. Timberview (5-4, 4-2 District 5-5A D2) outgained Cleburne 616-219, led by Cameron Bates’ 141 yards rushing on four carries and two touchdowns.

Reed added 14 carries for 137 yards and another two touchdowns as the Wolves ran all over the Yellow Jackets (4-5, 2-4).

The Wolves held just an 8-0 lead after the first quarter before outscoring Cleburne 26-3 in the second and 20-6 in the third to blow the game wide open.

For Cleburne, Logan Schroyer came in at quarterback for the second half. He completed seven of his 16 passes for 143 yards and a touchdown to receiver Jason Pugh. Schroyer also ran for a touchdown at the goal-line in the third quarter.

Argyle 48, Kaufman 21

Jett Copeland’s four total touchdowns powered Argyle to a 48-21 win over Kaufman in a second-place battle in 7-4A Division 1 on Friday night.

Copeland passed for 206 yards and had touchdown passes of 23 and 26 yards as the Eagles (8-1, 4-1 in District 7-4A Division 1) jumped on Kaufman (7-2, 3-2) early on its way to a 28-0 halftime lead.

Argyle forced four turnovers including two interceptions, while holding the Lions to only 147 yards passing.

The Eagles are now firmly in second in the district with the win over Kaufman and just one game left in the regular season.

Mansfield Summit 42, Midlothian 21

Keon Hobbs rushed for 111 yards and Orlando Scales added 87 to power Mansfield Summit to a 42-21 win over Midlothian on Friday night.

The teams played to a 14-14 tie at half before Summit (5-3, 4-1 in District 4-5A Division 1) broke open the game by early fourth quarter with 21 straight points.

Outside of a De’ago Benson 101-yard rushing performance and two touchdowns, Summit was able to keep Midlothian in check for most of the game.

Dallas Parish 63, Nolan Catholic 35

Andrew Paul rushed for nearly 400 yards and added three touchdowns to lead Parish Episcopal in a 63-35 win over Fort Worth Nolan Friday night.

Parish Episcopal (8-1, 6-0 in TAPPS D1 District 1) amassed 625 yards of total offense and nine touchdowns in a dominant offensive performance, highlighted by Paul’s 394-yard rushing performance.

Panthers’ quarterback Sawyer Anderson threw four touchdown passes and 188 yards, connecting with Blake Youngblood for three of the scores.

Parish scored at least two touchdowns in every quarter this game, as the offense could not be stopped the entire night.

Nolan (3-6, 3-3) running back Kewan Lacy rushed for 156 yards and two scores.
