Dallas-Fort Worth high school athletes say goodbyes online after seasons canceled
The UIL and TAPPS announced Friday afternoon that the remainder of spring activities and high school state championships have been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Among the sports affected are soccer (UIL), track, golf, tennis, softball, baseball, spring football and the boys basketball state tournament (UIL).
Friday morning, Gov. Greg Abbott made his announcement that schools would remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year because of the coronavirus.
Once the news broke, Dallas-Fort Worth spring teams and athletes took to Twitter and other means of social media to say their goodbyes to shorten seasons, senior years and high school careers.
