DFW basketball winners for Week 18 from Frisco Liberty, Lancaster, Duncanville

Frisco Liberty’s Lily Ziemkiewicz, the Liberty Lady Redhawks, Lancaster’s Wade Taylor and the Duncanville Panthers were voted the latest DFW high school girls and boys basketball players and teams of the week.

Ziemkiewicz was voted girls player of the week after scoring 16 points in the 5A state semifinals including the go-ahead 3-pointer with less than 10 seconds left vs. College Station.

Liberty, girls team of the week, won the 5A title, its first championship in program history.

Taylor was voted boys player of the week after dropping a game-high 33 points against Dallas Kimball in the 5A Region 2 final.

Duncanville, boys team of the week, beat Odessa Permian in the 6A Region 1 final to clinch a spot at state for the second straight year.
