UIL to hear realignment appeals from area schools Kennedale, Saginaw and Lake Worth

The UIL District Assignment Appeals Committee will meet Tuesday morning in Pflugerville to hear reclassification and realignment appeals from nine different schools across the state.

After the UIL released its biennial reclassification and realignment data for 2020-22 on Feb. 3, all schools were given the opportunity to appeal their district and conference assignments.

Area schools appealing include Kennedale volleyball/basketball, Saginaw volleyball/basketball and Lake Worth football.

Kennedale was reclassified into District 10-4A with Carrollton Ranchview, Fort Worth Harmony School, Oak Cliff Faith Family, Uplift North Hills, Uplift Summit and Uplift Williams Prep. The Wildcats are appealing to join Alvarado, Ferris, Godley, Hillsboro, Midlothian Heritage, Venus and Waxahachie Life in District 11-4A.

Saginaw was reclassifed into District 6-5A with Colleyville Heritage, Denton, Denton Ryan, Grapevine, Lake Dallas, Richland, Birdville and Justin Northwest. The Rough Riders are appealing to join Arlington Heights, North Side, Poly, South Hills, Southwest, Trimble Tech and Wyatt in District 7-5A.

Lake Worth was reclassified into District 4-4A Division 1 with Burkburnett, Decatur, Gainesville, Springtown and Wichita Falls Hirschi. The Bullfrogs are appealing to join Benbrook, Carter-Riverside, Dunbar, Eastern Hills, Western Hills, Diamond Hill-Jarvis, Kennedale and Castleberry.
