9-year-old Khloe Brandon, who goes to Lone Star Elementary, threw out the first pitch during the Central vs. Byron Nelson baseball game on Tuesday March 19, 2019. Brandon was diagnosed with Leukemia in December.

The winner of the latest Dallas-Fort Worth baseball player of the week for games April 15-20, 2019 goes to Sachse pitcher Chase Alford!

Alford, who received 2,962 votes, threw a 1-hit shutout and struck out 9 batters against North Garland.

He beat out Castleberry pitcher Michael Dameron, who had 2,746 votes after throwing a 1-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts while going 3 for 3 with a 3-run home run and 5 RBI.

Rockwall pitcher Zach Henry came in third place after hitting for the cycle against Mesquite.
