Voting has ended.

The winner of this week’s Dallas-Fort Worth baseball player of the week goes to Plano Prestonwood pitcher Luke Savage.

A TCU commit, Savage threw a 1-hit shutout and struck out 10 batters to beat John Paul II. He received 44 percent of the votes.

Savage edged out Red Oak pitcher Trevor Gattin, who received 42 percent of the votes.

Gattin, who’s committed to Vernon college, allowed 2 hits and struck out 8 vs. Ennis. Red Oak won in 8 innings, 2-1 and Gattin threw the complete game.
