Fort Worth area top 10 uncommitted football recruits for Class of 2019

Here are the top 10 uncommitted high school football recruits of the Class of 2019 from the Fort Worth area.

1. DB Jalen Catalon

5-9, 180, Mansfield Legacy

Considering TCU, Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas. Ranked the No. 20 safety in the nation. He’s projected to commit with Texas, per 247Sports. Voted Associated Press Class 5A all-state defensive player of the year when he was just a sophomore. Recorded 297 tackles, 12 INTs as a sophomore and junior.

2. LB/TE Chance Cover

6-3, 220, Nolan Catholic

Holds 9 offers and is considering Air Force, Army, Abilene Christian, Texas State and more. Has recorded over 100 tackles each of the past three seasons at linebacker while moving to play some tight end this season for the district champion Vikings. Projected to commit with Texas State, per 247.

3. QB Michael Black

6-0, 175, Haltom

Attended multiple camps during the summer including Oklahoma State. Received his first offer from UT-Permian Basin. Passed for 2,500 yards and 26 TDs while rushing for 1,584 yards and 18 TDs this season. Recorded over 2,700 yards total and 30 TDs as 6A all-state junior last year.

4. WR David Clayton

6-0, 170, Grapevine

Holds 6 offers from ACU, Lamar, Hawaii, Central Arkansas and more. Recorded 122 catches for over 1,800 yards and 25 TDs the past two seasons including 1,000 yards, 13 TDs last year.

5. DB/RB Tre Owens

5-11, 180, Aledo

In spot duty last season, rushed for 1,100 yards and 15 TDs and also caught 3 scores. Has played more defensively this season with 60 tackles, 37 solo with 3 INTs including a school-record 103-yard pick six in the state semifinals.

6. QB Will Bowers

6-1, 200, Southlake Carroll

Threw for a career-high 2,556 yards this season along with 20 TDs. He added 555 yards rushing and 8 TDs. Recorded over 5,000 yards passing, 1,400 yards rushing and 66 total TDs the past two seasons.

7. QB Brysen McKinney

6-2, 190, Mansfield Summit

Holds offers from Texas State, New Mexico, Southern Miss, Air Force and more. Recorded over 5,500 yards total and 64 TDs including 25 rushing. Accounted for 31 TDs last season. Projected to commit with Texas State, per 247.
