TXA 21 will broadcast double header at the Star for state quarterfinals

The TXA 21 High School Football games of the week will be at Ford Center at the Star in Frisco on Saturday with live broadcasts of two great state quarterfinal matchups.

Class 6A No. 5 Duncanville (12-0) and No. 6 Southlake Carroll (13-0) will be the first game with kickoff set at 4:30 p.m. TXA will also broadcast the night cap between 5A No. 3 Denton Ryan (13-0) and Birdville (12-1) at 8 p.m.

It’ll be the second-straight week for Carroll on TXA with the Dragons beating Euless Trinity 35-7 in last week’s regional round.

Riley Dodge is in his first season as head coach for his alma mater. The Panthers, led by Reginald Samples, will be a tough test as the defense is giving up just 4.4 points per game. They beat Arlington Lamar 45-6.

Ryan and Birdville will be the second time the two meet this season with the Raiders winning 49-28 in Week 11 that resulted in the district championship. The Raiders shut out Lubbock Coronado 30-0, Birdville beat Grapevine 28-21 in overtime.
