3-star Mansfield prospect commits to Cal

Mansfield 2019 cornerback Miles Williams announced on Twitter that he has committed to the University of Cal at Berkeley.

"Cal is building something great and I wanted to be apart of that," Williams said.

The 3-star prospect held 19 offers, according to 247Sports. In addition to the Golden Bears, he held offers from Purdue, Air Force, Arkansas, Boston College, Colorado State, Houston, Louisiana-Monroe, New Mexico, North Texas, Rice, San Diego State, SMU, Texas State, Texas Tech, UTSA, Vanderbilt, Washington State, and Yale.

Williams is the 13th player from 2019 to commit to the Golden Bears, and second from Texas.

"It has great academics and great football, and the coaching staff is excellent," he said. "I can’t wait to get up there."

Williams recorded 28 tackles, two interceptions and six pass deflections in 2017 as the Tigers went 11-2. He's the No. 70 ranked CB in the nation and No. 105 overall player in the state per 247Sports.
