Arlington Seguin and Southlake Carroll standouts win basketball players of the week
More than 35,000 votes were cast for the latest dfwVarsity girls and boys basketball players of the week for games Jan. 22-27.
Arlington Seguin senior Trinitee Cannon won with 5,590 votes. She scored a game-high 28 points vs. Everman.
Cleburne junior Jayla Johnson came in second after averaging 22 points vs Everman and Burleson Centennial.
FW Paschal junior Danielle Wilson came in third after averaging 14 points and 14 rebounds vs. Arlington Martin and Mansfield.
Southlake Carroll senior Jack McBride won the boys vote with 4,849 votes. He scored a game-high 30 points vs. Lewisville.
McBride edged out Cleburne senior Addison Wallace (4,422) who averaged 33 points and 10.5 rebounds vs. Everman and Burleson.
Castleberry junior Luis Hernandez came in third after dropping a game-high 42 points vs. Kennedale.
Previous winners- Richland’s Taylor Phouangaphayvong and FW Southwest Christian’s Artan Jabber.
