Birdville and South Hills standouts win soccer players of the week
Over 25,000 votes were cast for the latest dfwVarsity girls and boys soccer players of the week from Jan. 15-20.
Birdville sophomore Ashton Mitchell won the award with 14,753 votes after her hat trick vs. Justin Northwest.
Mitchell beat out Southwest Christian junior Victoria Navarrete (6,253) who recorded 3 goals and 2 assists against Fort Worth Christian.

FW South Hills senior goal keeper Jordan Venegas won the boys vote. He posted a shutout in the championship game against Arlington ILT as the Scorpions won their second tournament of the season at Birdville.
