Thanksgiving, indeed.

Stephen F. Austin pulled off one of the biggest upsets in a decade when it beat No. 1 Duke 85-83 on a frantic, fast-break, buzzer-beating layup at Cameron Indoor Stadium Tuesday night.

The Lumberjacks’ Nathan Bain raced down the floor with the game tied for the game-winning basket as the clock expired in overtime and fans — mostly Duke haters — blew up social media for the rest of the night.

SFA (5-1), which plays in the Southland Conference, was a 27.5 point underdog and pinned the Blue Devils with their first non-conference loss at home since 2000. That’s 19 years ago for the math-impaired. For the geography-impaired, SFA is located in the East Texas town of Nacogdoches.

Duke and head coach Mike Krzyzewski, of course, have a bullseye on their backs for all of their snobbish success the past 35 years. The Blue Devils had won 150 consecutive home games against non-conference opponents.

The historic upset was the green light fans needed to rejoice on social media and throw shade Duke’s way.
