With a 10-3 home record, the TCU women’s basketball team has felt right at home at the University Recreation Center, where the team is playing while Daniel-Meyer Coliseum is being renovated.
The Horned Frogs return to action on their home court Sunday against Texas Tech, which sits at the bottom of the Big 12 standings with a 3-7 record.
The road was unkind to TCU on Wednesday in a 76-71 loss to West Virginia. The Frogs dropped to 2-4 on the road.
Texas Tech is averaging 58.5 points a game, led by senior guard Amber Battle, who is fourth in the Big 12 with 16.1 points a game.
Junior guard Veja Hamilton has averaged 16.9 points a game over the past 11 games to lead TCU.
Tech owns the all-time series 40-4 against TCU and is 16-1 in Fort Worth.
TCU’s only home win over the Rad Raiders came last season, 72-57. Texas Tech picked up one of its three conference wins this season against TCU, 52-37 in Lubbock.
Senior guard Natalie Ventress on Wednesday moved into sixth all-time in scoring for TCU with 1,311 career points.
She averaged double figures in scoring in each of her first three seasons at TCU. Sandora Irvin is the only player in school history to achieve the feat in all four seasons. Ventress is currently averaging 9.9 points a game.
