TCU will open the College World Series on Sunday, with a first pitch at 2 p.m. against Big 12 conference-mate Texas Tech.
It will be the fouth meeting between the Horned Frogs (47-16) and Red Raiders (47-18) this season. Texas Tech won a series in Fort Worth two games to one in April.
The TCU-Tech winner will play a winner’s bracket game at 8 p.m. Tuesday; the loser goes to an elimination game at 4 p.m.
The other teams in the TCU-Tech bracket are Coastal Carolina and the winner of Monday night’s Florida/Florida State game.
The other bracket has Oklahoma State against UC-Santa Barbara at 2 p.m. Saturday and Miami against Arizona at 7 p.m.
Bracket play is double elimination. The bracket winners play a best-of-three series beginning Monday, June 27, for the national championship.
TCU is 6-6 in three previous College World Series trips.
Both the Frogs and Raiders advanced with Game 3 victories in their Super Regionals, TCU over Texas A&M and Texas Tech over East Carolina.
The teams also met in a College World Series opener in 2014, with TCU winning 3-2.
