TCU added a commitment for 2017 from a 6-foot-7 Australian forward.

Kouat Noi told Scout.com he has commited to the Horned Frogs and new coach Jamie Dixon.

Noi played at Montverde (Fla.) Prep last season. Scout.com’s Evan Daniels said in his report that TCU assistant David Patrick’s ties to Australia helped land the player.

Dixon, speaking last week about the additions of guards Jaylen Fisher and Desmond Bane, said he considers the track of players’ careers as they are recruited.

Guys that are on the upswing, as far as getting better as their career progressed, that’s the thing we want to look for.

“I think guys that are on the upswing, as far as getting better as their career progressed, that’s the thing we want to look for,” he said. “It’s all about development. They developed in high school. I think they’ll continue to develop in college.”

Dixon said he continues to try to get players to visit TCU and its renovated arena and facilities.

“We’re always trying to get local kids — or oftentimes, since a lot of tournaments are here, a lot of kids will be flying in, possibly get them to come by campus as well,” Dixon said. “We’ve got to work around dead periods and the rules, but we always want the opportunity to get kids on campus, whether it be local kids or kids traveling through town or kids visiting on their own, to come see TCU.”
