TCU women prepare for Cyclones
After dropping an offensive battle to Oklahoma 97-81 Saturday, the TCU women’s basketball team faces another Big 12 offensive leader in Iowa State Wednesday on the road.
The Horned Frogs (11-5, 3-2 Big 12) defeated Iowa State 86-84 on Jan. 7 in the teams’ first meeting this season, overcoming a 23-point halftime deficit and largest in program history in a victory.
Junior guard Veja Hamilton has taken a surprising lead of the TCU offense during conference play, averaging 18 points per game in the last six games.
Iowa State (12-4, 3-2) leads the Big 12 in free-throw accuracy at 78.1 percent and with an average of 10.1 3-pointers per game.
The Cyclones are paced by senior guard Brynn Williamson at 12.9 points per game. Williamson also averages 2.7 3-pointers per game.
The matchup will be the eighth between the programs with Iowa State holding a 4-3 advantage.
