TCU used a 21-0 run in the second half to pull away from Kansas and beat the Jayhawks 70-44 in Allen Fieldhouse on Wednesday night.

It was the largest margin of victory for TCU over a Big 12 opponent since joining the league in 2012-13. The third conference road win ties TCU’s best one-season mark.

TCU senior guard Zahna Medley had 13 points as she moved closer to becoming the TCU career points leader. With 1,832 points, Medley is 60 away from tying Sandora Irvin’s school record.

Sophomore AJ Alix had 15 points and senior Veja Hamilton 12 for the Horned Frogs (14-11, 6-8 Big 12). Kansas remained winless in Big 12 play (5-20, 0-14).

The Frogs held Kansas without a 3-point field goal in the first half, but the Jayhawks got two 3-pointers among their first three field goals of the second half to pull within 37-31 with 7:54 to go in the third quarter.

TCU responded by scoring the next seven to go up 44-31 and eventually extended the run to 13-0 to end the third quarter. Kansas missed its final 16 shots of the third quarter. TCU led 50-31 to start the fourth quarter.

TCU’s run went to 21-0 before the Jayhawks hit a free throw with 7:22 to go. Kansas missed 19 consecutive shots before hitting a basket with 6:37 to go after TCU had built a 29-point lead.

Kansas was held to 27.6 percent shooting, inlcuding 24.1 percent (7 of 29) in the second half.
