TCU-Texas football game moved to Nov. 25
Big 12 officials announced today that TCU’s football game at Texas has been shifted to Friday, Nov. 25 at the request of the league’s broadcast partners. The game originally was set for Thanksgiving night but will be moved back one day. A kickoff time and TV partner has yet to be announced.
In addition, league officials announced a Thursday night telecast for the Texas Tech-Kansas game in Lubbock. That contest originally had been slated forOct. 1.
The shift of the Texas-TCU game marks the end of a four-year stretch when Texas has hosted nationally televised games in Austin against TCU (2012, 2014) or Texas Tech (2013, 2015). Texas last played on the Friday after Thanksgiving in 2007 against Texas A&M in College Station.
The A&M-Texas rivalry, a traditional Thanksgiving weekend contest, disappeared with the Aggies’ move to the SEC for the 2012 season.
