TCU’s Signing Day list

Offense: The signing of four-star offensive tackle Austin Myers of Manvel highlighted the morning for the Horned Frogs on offense. He was one of two tackles who signed. The Frogs also got a center, Kellton Hollins of Zachary, La. Having lost Josh Doctson and Kolby Listenbee, the Frogs are looking for pass catchers to fill in behind Emanuel Porter, Jaelan Austin and KaVontae Turpin. Dallas Skyline’s Camron Williams, a late commitment, could play defense or receiver. Fort Worth Paschal’s Dylan Thomas signed as an athlete but is expected to play receiver. For the backfield, the Frogs picked up dynamic Richmond George Ranch running back Darius Anderson.

Defense: TCU invested in the defensive line and returned four-star defensive end prospect Isaiah Chambers of Aldine MacArthur and four-star defensive tackle Ross Blacklock of Missouri City Elkins. The Frogs needed to replace the loss of three defensive ends and defensive tackle Davion Pierson, their most experienced player a year ago. The secondary, which uses three safeties in Gary Patterson’s defense, added Mansfield Summit’s Vernon Scott and Beaumont West Brook’s Innis Gaines.

Instant impact: Blacklock is a 6-foot-4, 326-pound defensive tackle rated No. 38 among all players in Texas. TCU can use immediate help along the defensive line. His size alone is almost reason enough to get him started early.
