Zahna Medley continues pursuit of TCU records against West Virginia
The game Wednesday against No. 6 Texas didn’t work out as well as the TCU women had hoped. The Horned Frogs surrendered an eight-point lead in the fourth quarter and lost 65-58.
However, coaching against her alma mater, TCU assistant coach Edwina Brown helped one of her players reach a milestone, one Brown was familiar with.
She’s a great player. She can score the ball. She’s been scoring since Day One.

TCU senior guard Zahna Medley passed Brown’s career point mark of 1,705 with a 3-pointer early in the game, moving into 33rd place all time in Big 12 scoring.
“She’s a great player. She can score the ball. She’s been scoring since Day One she stepped foot on this campus,” Brown said.
Sitting 10 points behind TCU’s third-best scorer of all time, Adrianne Ross, Medley continues her attack on the TCU record books against No. 25 West Virginia on Sunday afternoon at Schollmaier Arnea.
The Mountaineers (15-4, 4-2 Big 12) were able to escape the winter storm that has made transportation impossible in the northeast by busing to Pittsburgh then flying to Fort Worth on Saturday.
Defense has been one of West Virginia’s specialties this season. The Mountaineers lead the conference in field goal percentage defense (33.2) and are third in scoring defense (55.6) and scoring margin (plus-16.9).
TCU (11-7, 3-4 Big 12) hopes to snap a two-game losing streak and post its second win in six games. The Frogs are also looking for their first win this season over a ranked opponent after dropping their first five attempts.
TCU coach Raegan Pebley is 2-8 against ranked opponents in her two seasons with the Frogs. She is 0-4 against teams in the top five and 2-4 against those ranked 6 to 25.
