Former Mansfield Timberview guard Alex Robinson transfers from Texas A&M to TCU
Former Mansfield Timberview and Texas A&M guard Alex Robinson has transferred to TCU, the Horned Frogs announced Wednesday morning.
Robinson played in 32 games last season as a freshman, averaging 18.8 minutes per contest. He will sit out this season due to NCAA transfer rules and will have sophomore eligibility beginning in the 2016-17 season.
At Timberview, Robinson earned all-state honors after averaging more than 23 points per game. He was rated a four-star prospect by ESPN, Rivals.com and Scout.com in the class of 2014.
In a statement provided by TCU, coach Trent Johnson said: “Alex is an explosive point guard. He plays with good speed and is capable of making plays for himself as well as his teammates. He was one of the top players in the country his senior year in high school. We are very fortunate to be able to add a player with his talent to our roster at this time of year.”
