Football writers put Doctson on their All-America team, his fifth so far
TCU receiver Josh Doctson made another All-America team, this time the Auto Nation Football Writers Assocation of America squad.
It is the fifth All-American team selection for the Horned Frogs’ record-breaking receiver. Doctson has also been named to lists by the Associated Press, Walter Camp, USA Today and SI.com.
Here is the writers’ list, which includes Frogs kicker Jaden Oberkrom on the second-team offense. Oberkrom is tied for the career lead in field goals by a Big 12 kicker.
Doctson missed two games because of a wrist injury but still ranked fourth in the country in touchdown catches and sixth in receiving yards. His 79 catches for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns are all single-season school records.
Three more All-America teams are scheduled to be announced this week. The Sporting News releases its team on Tuesday, the American Football Coaches Association announces its team on Wednesday, and on Thursday, the NCAA releases the All-America Consensus Team, which uses the lists by Walter Camp, AP, the FWAA, the AFCA and The Sporting News.
