TCU receiver Josh Doctson out for year
TCU wide receiver Josh Doctson is out for the year, TCU coach Gary Patterson said Wednesday.
On Tuesday Patterson said that Doctson, a Biletnikoff Award semifinalist, would again see a specialist for his wrist injury, as he and the team try to decide whether he can be effective until it is “permanently” repaired, as Patterson put it.
Doctson was hurt during the Horned Frogs’ 49-29 loss at Oklahoma State when a defender fell on his left hand and wrist at the end of a catch late in the second quarter. He did not return to the game.
Doctson, a senior from Mansfield Legacy, set school records this year for touchdown catches (14), receiving yards (1,315) and receptions (78) in a season and school career records for touchdown catches (29) and yards (2,773). He was one shy of tying Kelly Blackwell’s record of 181 career catches at TCU.
