TCU-West Virginia highlights
First-Quarter Highlight
Another flip. Trevone Boykin went up and over into the end zone on a 2-yard run for a touchdown, a lot like he did last year in a game against Kansas State. It put the Horned Frogs ahead 14-0.
Second-Quarter Highlight
Jaden Oberkrom’s 57-yard field goal gave the Horned Frogs a 23-10 lead at halftime and tied the school record. Michael Reeder kicked one from the same distance against UTEP in 1996.
Third-Quarter Highlight
Josh Doctson’s second touchdown catch came off a sidearm throw from Trevone Boykin. It gave him 14 touchdown catches on the season, piling on to his school record.
Fourth-Quarter Highlight
Jaden Oberkrom hit from 43 yards, giving him four field goals in the game. The former Arlington Martin kicker came in 7-for-11 on the season, and it was his eighth consecutive made field goal.
Game balls
WR Josh Doctson: Caught 11 passes for 183 yards and two touchdowns. For him, typical. Oh, and he broke Josh Boyce’s record of 66 catches in a season.
QB Trevone Boykin: Toyed with the Mountaineers defense, using his feet to leave defenders grasping for air and whipping passes left, right and sidearm.
LB Ty Summers: Stepped in at linebacker when Montrel Wilson left the game with an injury and finished with a team-high 10 tackles.
Numbers game
172 Catches in his TCU career for Josh Doctson, leaving him nine shy of Mike Renfro’s record. Doctson is averaging 10.1 catches per game this year.
