TCU recap: Green’s catch preserves Horned Frogs’ 55-52 win over Texas Tech

Why TCU won: With 23 seconds left to play, Trevon Boykin threw a pass that was tipped straight up by the intended receiver, and running back Aaron Green corralled it in the back of the end zone with one foot down for the score that put the Horned Frogs in front 55-52. It was Green’s third touchdown of the game following two earlier rushing scores. The TCU defense forced a rare three-and-out to give the Frogs possession with 3:02 remaining.

Players of the game: Josh Doctson hauled in 18 passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns in the win, while Boykin posted a career-high 505 yards through the air. Green rushed for 138 yards and had three total touchdowns.

Records: TCU 4-0, 1-0 Big 12; Texas Tech 3-1, 0-1
