TCU football lands big commitment from Fort Worth-area lineman
TCU football started a busy recruiting weekend with a massive commitment from a priority offensive lineman.
Crowley offensive tackle Alexander Herrera announced his commitment to the Horned Frogs on Friday morning on social media. Herrera was set to begin his official visit to TCU on Friday.
Listed at 6-foot-6, 330 pounds, Herrera is one of top offensive linemen in the Dallas-Fort Worth. He is ranked the No. 108 tackle nationally and the No. 182 prospect in Texas, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
The Horned Frogs beat out multiple rivals for his commitment, including SMU, Baylor and Arizona State. Herrera is now commitment No. 4 in the class of 2027, joining Robinson quarterback Brice McCurdy, four-star edge rusher Drake Carroll from San Antonio and Denton Guyer defensive tackle Darrien Neal.
McCurdy, Carroll, Neal are also scheduled to be on campus for their official visits this weekend. Other key visitors include Southlake Carroll wide receiver Brody Knowles, Whitney wide receiver Kobe Haynes, Bridge City linebacker Bryce Breeden and Louisiana safety Rontrae Carter.
