A professional point guard from Spain is joining TCU women’s basketball.
Claudia Contell will join the Horned Frogs for the 2026-27 season. The 22-year-old will be classified as a freshman and will have four seasons of eligibility remaining.
The 5-foot-10 guard from Valencia earned MVP honors while leading Spain to the Under-20 European Championship in 2022.
Contell has spent the past six years playing for clubs in the EuroLeague (the top pro league in Europe) and Liga ACB (the top pro league in Spain). Last season, she averaged 16.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.3 steals while shooting 38.7% on 3-pointers for CB Gran Canaria in Liga ACB.
