Which TCU women’s basketball players earned All-Big 12 honors?

TCU women’s basketball was well represented in the release of the Big 12 women’s basketball yearly honors on Tuesday.

A trio of Horned Frogs earned honors including Olivia Miles, who was voted Big 12 Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. Miles became just the second player in program history to be voted Player of the Year, joining last year’s winner Hailey Van Lith.

Miles set numerous records while leading TCU to a regular season Big 12 title including tying Brittney Griner and Shalee Lehning for most career triple-doubles by a Big 12 player. Miles is also tied with Caitlin Clark for the third-most triple doubles in a season with five.

Miles helped the Horned Frogs become the first Big 12 team to win back-to-back regular season titles within three seasons of finishing in last place. Miles was also voted first team All-Big 12 after averaging 20.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game.

Senior forward Marta Suarez joined her on the first team. The Cal transfer averaged 17.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game while forming a formidable duo with Miles.

Finally, junior guard Donovyn Hunter was voted to the All-Big 12 defensive team and also was named honorable mention All-Big 12. The lone returning starter from last year’s Elite Eight run, Hunter averaged a career-high 11.2 points and 1.5 steals per game while routinely guarding the opposition’s best guards.

TCU will begin postseason play at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City. The Horned Frogs will face either Utah, BYU or Houston.
